It’s enrollment season in University of the Philippines, and I have successfully enrolled in the Master of Information Systems in the Open University for the first semester. Just a few minutes after enrollment period opened, I made sure to enlist and enroll to make sure I wouldn’t have troubles in case heavy user traffic kicks in.
I paid using the online payment option that has an additional fee of 4.5% to the total cost, for the use of bank facilities and as administrative cost.
For the first semester, I have decided to enroll the full load of 3 subjects that would total to 9 units. Two of the subjects are the core requirements of my enrolled program. For my elective I decided to be adventurous and enroll in something non-computer related.
IS 201 – Computer Ethics
IS 214 – Principles of Programming Languages
DEVC 202 – Development Communication Concepts and Approaches
In other UP campuses like UPLB (University of the Philippines Los Baños), enrollment isn’t as easy. An online enlistment system that has been recently implemented and is inaccessible resulting to hundreds of students camping out in the campus.
